Part Q Standard with Grand Entrance

People are increasingly turning to composite doors to make their homes more attractive, safer and secure and combining good looks with top security is key to the Grand Entrance composite door.

The Grand Entrance composite door comprises of a hardwood inner frame reinforced for rigidity, set around a thermally insulated polyurethane foam core. To give great definition and long life performance, we use glass reinforced plastic skins – the same material used to make the hulls of boats.  The Grand Entrance composite door provides a formidable barrier against would-be intruders, while guests are assured of a warm and stylish welcome.

The Benefits of a Composite Door:

  • Low maintenance
  • Aesthetically pleasing
  • Highly resistant to weathering
  • More secure than a traditional timber door
  • Solid and robust to withstand the rigours of day-to-day use

Part Q and Secured by Design

Part Q, either via the enhanced PAS24:12 standard or Secured by Design accreditation covering the enhanced security of windows and doors is mandatory for anyone working on dwellings which are considered to be new build or conversion projects.  The Grand Entrance composite door meets these requirements with our latest Part Q approval.

Part Q states that doors and windows must be able to resist physical attack by a casual or opportunist burglar in order to meet these standards. To do this they must be both robust and be fitted with appropriate hardware all of which is true of the Grand Entrance range.

Fully tested

comp doors test

As part of our accreditation, all our doors are fully tested to PAS 24. To achieve this standard, our composite doors undergo severe brute force attacks, whereby test houses try the security of your door with crow bars, sledge hammers, and other tools of destruction.
