Taking place over 11 days in June this year, spanning 2,016 miles between Vancouver, Canada and Tijuana, Mexico, offering up 92,295 feet of climbing and temperatures in excess of 40 degrees, #gmfb2b the GM Fundraising Border2Border Cycling Challenge is being described as the ‘Toughest Yet’. And it is on this arduous journey, with a team of 24 that Profix Group MD Alan Sadler is setting out.

e Cascade Mountains, Colombian Plateau, Sacramento Valley, Californian Coastal Mountains, the Sierra Nevada, the Mojave Desert and the San Antonio Mountains. It’s going to be tough, but the whole team have been dedicated to training and we have an excellent back up team to support us too. And let’s not forget why we are putting ourselves through this: Hope House Children’s Hospices will benefit from every penny raised.  Hope House provides palliative care for children with terminal conditions and support for their families, both on site and in their homes.image3

“My outlook on life is simple, love your family, work hard, have fun and try to help others less fortunate than yourself. I am honored to be part of the GM Fundraising team and hope that whatever I can contribute to the ongoing support for Hope House will help the children and families who depend on the fantastic care they provide.

“This is the fifth epic cycling challenge I have taken part in with GM Fundraising – previously three times as a rider and once as support – so I have seen the momentum we have gained in terms of raising funds for Hope House and the difference we’ve made. This is my motivation for taking part in the Border2Border challenge.  I am most looking forward to crossing the finish line but I can’t deny the comradery that this sort of shared experience and challenge brings to the team, is a great part of the experience.

Alan sets off on Friday 10th June – to follow the progress of Alan and the rest of the team you can visit the GM Fundraising site http://www.gmfundraising.co.uk/border2border/, or look out for posts on Facebook and Twitter using the #GMFB2B hashtag.  If you would like to show your support for Alan and the GM Fundraising Border2Border team visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Sadlerb2b
