From Apprentice to Operator and Beyond

Tim Herbert joined Grand Entrance in 2015 as a manufacturing apprentice. He has since worked hard to achieve two NVQ’s and an EAL qualification and become a fully-fledged Window & Door Manufacturing Operative.

“Working for Grand Entrance is great,” says Tim. “I joined when I was 20 and since I started they have trained and supported me at every step to gain qualifications relevant to the job I want to do. I get a lot of help from the team, time to study and the opportunity to better myself that many other employers don’t offer. I am looking forward to continuing my training with Grand Entrance; the next step for me is learning more about estimating and processing.”

For the Profix Group, consisting Grand Entrance, Flame Door, Profix Window Systems and PR9fix, employing locally and providing opportunity to young people is key. Employing an apprentice like Tim is a long-term investment for us. We are continually looking to develop a skilled team – a skilled, loyal workforce, trained properly to produce the very best quality PVC-U windows and doors, is the best asset any business can have. We like to think we have learnt a lot over the many years we’ve been involved in the fenestration industry, and to be able to pass this on to the next generation is invaluable.

Working with Tim and our other apprentices over the years enables a team of knowledgeable operatives that follow good procedure to produce the excellent products.
