Alan Sadler To Support GM Fundraising’s Paddle2Pedal

Profix Group MD Alan Sadler is gearing up to support the latest GM Fundraising challenge, but this time to support a group of 12 ladies from the fenestration industry as they prepare to take part in the first ever all-female GM Fundraising challenge, Paddle2Pedal. In less than 2 weeks, the team will be setting out to canoe 100 miles down the River Wye from Glasbury. Paddling approximately 20 miles a day, they will finish up in Chepstow on Day 5. Here they will abseil down the rock face at Symonds Yat, before getting on their bikes to cycle 120 miles to Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry where they’ll meet the very children and families they are raising money for.

GM Fundraising has supported Hope House Children’s Hospices for many years. Alan has taken part in 5 of the challenges so far, and has been part of the team that is GM Fundraising for 12 years. He will be using his cycling experience to support the P2P team throughout their challenge.

Alan comments: “I am so impressed by the determination and resilience this group of wonderful woman have shown throughout their training. Nine months ago, many of them hadn’t sat on a bike for years and never been in a canoe, but they have come together, pushing through the pain barrier time after time in preparation for this tough challenge. I am really looking forward to being part of the event.

For each challenge, Hope House dedicates mascots from the children currently being cared for by the hospices. The Paddle2Pedal challenge has six mascots:

Chloe

Ben

Callie

Mika

Poppy

Rowan

Alan continues: “Everything we do at GM Fundraising is about raising money for these kids. These mascots are a great incentive when the going gets tough – they remind you why you are taking part and how lucky you are to be able to do so. Each member of the team covers their own costs, so every penny raised from this challenge will go directly to support the wonderful care Hope House Children’s Hospices provide these children and their families. I am not directly fundraising this time, but ask that you support this wonderful team in their efforts.
